American Style Ribs with Honey, Soy and Sesame

Serves 4

    - 1.2 kg American -Style Pork ribs
    - 1/4 cup Reduced salt soy sauce
    - 1 tbs sesame oil
    - 1 tbs honey
    - 1 tsp Chinese five spice

Preheat oven to 180*C and line a baking dish with non-stick baking paper.

Mix the soy, oil, honey and spice.

Brush both sides of the ribs well with the marinade then place into the baking dish.

Bake in the oven for 1 hour.

Baste occasionally during cooking with soy and honey mixture.Serve with fresh lettuce, tomato and avocado salad.


Spicy pork stir fry

Serves 4

  • 500 600g lean Pork Strips
  • 3 tblspns peanut oil
  • 8 spring onions, sliced
  • 1 tblspn grated lime rind
  • 2 1/2 tsps ginger, grated
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 2-3 red chillies (seeded) finely chopped
  • 1 1/2 tbls lemon grass, finely chopped
  • 3 tblspns lime juice
  • 2 tblspns hoisin sauce
  • 1 1/2 tblspn soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup chicken stock
  • 200g sliced beans

Heat 1 tblspn oil in hot wok, add half the pork, quickly toss to brown and seal about 1-2 minutes, remove to side dish. Repeat with another 1 tblspn oil and remaining pork, remove.

Heat remaining oil, reduce heat, add spring onions, ginger, garlic, chillies and lemon grass, stir and cook 1 minute.

Add rind,juice, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, stock and beans, cook 1-2 mins.

Return pork to wok, stir to combine.

Serve with boiled noodles or rice.
